About Being a Revolutionary
Thursday 23rd March, 2006For me, mediocrity is unacceptable. Too much Sunday School is done without intention, going through the motions, doing what has "always" been done. But it doesn't have to be that way. We can make Sunday School and small group Bible studies great, life-changing experiences! Let's lead members and guests to consider Sunday School their "third place" between work and home.
God's work it too important to give less than our best. We have been called to make disciples of ALL nations (Matthew 28:19-20). Sunday School and small groups can great tools in the hands of revolutionaries. More than 800 posts have been written to help the cause. When you read something that makes you think, hits your passion button, with which you have some experience, or you have questions, just press the Comments button. This learning community of revolutionaries would love to read your post, learn from you, and respond. Don't be mediocre. Be revolutionary!
My name is Darryl Wilson. I began serving at the Kentucky Baptist Convention as Director of the Sunday School Department in September 1997. I provide training and consultations for the 2,400 churches and 70 associations across Kentucky and beyond. My work is primarily with pastors, church staff, Sunday School directors, teachers, and small group leaders.
I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, where I received the Bachelor of Arts degree from Belmont University in 1982. I graduated from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville in 1985 with the Master of Divinity in Christian Education degree and in 2003 with the Doctor of Education degree.
Before coming to the Kentucky Baptist Convention, I served as Minister of Education in four churches in Kentucky and one in South Carolina. I am also active in the Kentucky Baptist Religious Education Association, Baptist Association of Christian Educators, and the State Sunday School Directors Association (Southern Baptist)--an association of my peers across the country.
You can contact me at the Kentucky Baptist Convention by email at darryl.wilson@kybaptist.org. You can also find me on Twitter as DarrylWilson and on Facebook as Darryl Wilson.
